Pamojan advocates aim to create a community that has accessible and affordable healthcare, with supportive and stigma free communities for people with T1D across Africa.

What we do

We increase awareness of T1D in communities across Africa by creating advocacy training workshops and country-specific advocacy plans that target communities and the government.

Why we we are
Pamojans

Why_1@2x.png

High Mortality Rate

Mortality and morbidity rates are very high in Africa due to inaccessibility and unaffordability of essential medical supplies.

Why_2@2x.png

Non-inclusive Policy Environmental

With the African government overburdened by infectious diseases, T1D remains a low government priority.

Lack of Awareness and Community Stigma

Lack of awareness and stigma towards those afflicted are all too common creating unsupportive environments that leave many in vulnerable health situations

Our Advocates

These advocates, called Pamojans, have gone through advocacy training and are working towards long-term change in their local communities while building inter-African collaborations to make their advocacy stronger.

T1D Collaboration

The Sonia Nabeta Foundation alleviates the cost of treatment and provides holistic healthcare and community support for children with Type 1 diabetes from low-income families in Africa.

T1International supports local communities by giving them the tools they need to stand up for their rights so that access to insulin and diabetes supplies becomes a reality for all.
